Primo Family Restaurant is a family-owned and operated business with a proud history of serving the Belle View Community since 1988. The owner, Jim Nicopoulos, is a third generation restaurateur, born and raised in the nation’s capital.

The dining room at Primo’s is currently closed but outside dining is available as well as carry out. They have been preparing meals for 18 years while observing the highest safety measures and during Covid, your safety is their first concern.

Mamma's Kitchen
Mamma’s Kitchen, located at 7601 Fordson Road, is the passion of chef/owner Marianna Johnides where she brings wonderfully flavored Mediterranean cuisine to Alexandria, made from the freshest, most delicious ingredients prepared in simple, accessible ways.
Marianna grew up in a family of restaurant owners. “I observed my mother’s own techniques and developed a personal style of creative, original interpretations of some of her traditional Greek and Italian favorites,” she said. 
Her motto is: “If it’s good enough for Mamma…then it’s good enough for our customers!” You will definitely not have a chain restaurant experience at Mamma’s Kitchen.
The restaurant is open 11 am to 8 pm, for lunch and dinner, Monday thru Sunday. The dining room is open and has a wood fired brick oven where the signature pizzas are baked. The outdoor patio is open and is a delightful place to enjoy your meals.
Lunch specials are served Monday – Friday 11 am to 3 pm and include beef or chicken gyros, delicious main course salads, pasta, tuna melt, steak and cheese sandwiches, and personal pan pizza.

The Skrimp Shack
The Skrimp Shack Mount Vernon celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Friday, October 23, with Lee District Supervisor Rodney Lusk.
Located at 7700 E Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon Plaza, this Skrimp Shack franchise is owned by Kenneth McLeon and his wife Brenda. McLeon is a retired Marine and he is proud to serve the Fort Belvoir / Mount Vernon community. 
Tuesdays are “Military Appreciation” day when active duty and retired military receive 10 percent off their order as a way to say, “Thank you for your service.”
The Skrimp Shack is “home to the fattest fish sandwich.” The menu features lunch specials or family combos. Check out the shrimp, different types of fish, and the signature hushpuppies. There are sandwiches, po boys, and fish tacos with sides of fries, fried okra, coleslaw, mac ‘n cheese, collard greens, green beans, and sweet potato fries.
You can feed the family with either fish by the pound or shrimp by the count. All entrees come with their homemade sauces. Or add a side of crabmeat to any meal. For dessert you can choose from banana pudding or brownies.

Cedar Knoll Restaurant features sweeping views of the Potomac River, acclaimed American – French cuisine and a fun atmosphere. The menu is modern and innovative while the furnishings are true to the historic Mount Vernon roots.

During the Covid-19 pandemic Cedar Knoll began emphasizing its grocery service for those wanting quality groceries from local sources. “The Joy of Eating” provides a selection of fresh groceries for the home that can be picked up at the restaurant Thursday afternoons or delivered within a five-mile radius from the restaurant for a small fee.
Groceries include a variety of fresh meats, vegetables and fruits. Local honey, eggs and fresh milk is also available. Some pre-made salads and restaurant sauces are available with fresh focaccia bread and Cedar Knoll desserts. They even offer sanitation supplies and toilet paper. As social gatherings resume, Cedar Knoll Restaurant has room for larger events such as weddings, business retreats or family gatherings. For events, guests may reserve the entire restaurant for larger groups as well as each room and the patio individually as options for smaller groups.

Franconia resident Jason Hunt and his family own and operate the local Roy Rogers Restaurants. They welcome regular customers as well as those trying the menu for the first time.
“Many of our customers return over and over to the restaurant,” says Hunt, “because they know they will receive great food each time they order.”
“We ensure CDC guidelines on cleanliness are strictly followed in each restaurant,” Hunt said. “Our customers expect and receive friendly service and quality food.” 
There is a breakfast menu served from 6:30 am to 10:30 am with breakfast sandwiches, beef biscuit and gravy platters, pancake platters and those famous biscuits and breakfast fries. The lunch and dinner menu begins at 10:30 am and goes until closing at 10:0 pm and includes a variety of burgers, roast beef sandwiches, and fried chicken or chicken sandwiches.
Roy Rogers also has a full menu of side items with fresh garden salads, fruit cups, fries from real potatoes, cole slaw and baked beans. Brownies are made in the stores and the ice cream is hand dipped.

Dishes of India provides delicious Indian food for lunch or dinner. It is located in Belle View Shopping Center and is currently open for carry-out only.
The menu features chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetable dishes with biryani-rice based dishes also available. Instead of the famous lunch buffet, Dishes of India is now offering special “small bowl” lunches with a variety of meat, vegetable, and rice options.

This family-owned and operated restraint opened June 17, 1997. Chef-owner Ramanand Bhatt begin cooking when 16 years old in New Delhi, India at a roadside café. From the beginning of his career his desire was to open his own restaurant. At age 25 he traveled to Spain, where he worked at a prestigious Indian restaurant for five years. Returning to India, he worked for Air India flight kitchens as an assistant chef for 15 years. In 1981 he came to the United States, continuing to fine-tune his skills, plan and save and eventually opening his own restaurant in 1997.
His son, Naresh manages the restaurant and the work of two other chefs who specialize in Tandori and curry cooking. The other son, Gopal takes cares of the front end. Dishes of India is focused on traditional authentic Indian cuisine using only the freshest ingredients and the best spices.
The family believes the secret to the delicious meals created at Dishes of India may be the extraordinary gift of happiness from God they feel which is transferred to the cooking. Many restaurant customers are dedicated patrons returning often for consistently great meals.
In 2003 Dishes of India was destroyed by Hurricane Isabell and the flooding in Belle View. It took a year to renovate the restaurant and reopen. There were so many hurdles to re-open the restaurant but with the help of many community organizations and loyal customers it was possible to restore Dishes of India and open for business again.
