Businesses in our area recognize the vital role the military plays in safeguarding our nation and aim to give back in meaningful ways. Offering military discounts is a small yet impactful gesture to show gratitude, provide financial relief, and foster a strong sense of community. Blue Star Museum
From Armed Forces Day (May 18, 2024) through Labor Day (September 2, 2024), Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House will be participating in Blue Star Museum program. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families each summer.
The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military–Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard–including Reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for admission. This discount is redeemable only in-person on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.
Military Discount
Throughout the year we offer an active military discount on single hour and combo tours. The active military discount is $3 off the price of regular admission.

Gunston Hall
Gunston Hall participates in the Blue Star family program and extends that discount to active duty military throughout the year. They offer a discount to retired military of $2 off the regular adult admission ticket.
