Q&A with Peter Pokorny
Tell us about your business:
I am a Regional Vice President for commercial real estate with Serafin Real Estate. I focus on Alexandria and Eastern Fairfax County. I represent commercial landlords and do tenant representation. I also do sales and acquisitions of commercial property.
What inspired you to start your business?
I have been involved in commercial real estate for over 13 years. I started out as a commercial real estate attorney and have parlayed my experience to assist business owners with leasing and sales.
What sets your business apart from others in your industry?
My varied and extensive experience in commercial real estate. Besides being a commercial agent, I am also a commercial real estate attorney, current President of the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Marketing Association, and a member of the NVAR Commercial Council Advisory Team.
What do you love most about the work you do?
I enjoy assisting business owners with their commercial real estate needs. I particularly enjoy transactional work and negotiations.
Why do you believe it’s important to be involved with the Chamber and the local business community?
In my line of work, it is important to understand and to get to know local businesses. I also want to understand their real estate concerns and any related issues. It is this knowledge that helps me provide the best service to my clients. Being active with the LeadShare group and attending the networking events help with this.
How can other Chamber members support you or your business?
I value and appreciate introductions to business owners who are looking for assistance with commercial real estate. Whether leasing or finding tenants…or looking to purchase or sell properties…or even legal issues they may have about their commercial real estate.
