Advocacy

The Chamber supports a pro-growth and pro-jobs legislative agenda on all levels of government.  We encourage the Board of Supervisors, the General Assembly, and our Federal representatives to work with businesses to retain, create, and attract jobs.

The annual legislative agenda written by the legislative affairs committee, is a resource to enable Chamber Members to anticipate future government actions, policies, and programs that may impact their business and our community. The new Legislative Directory has contact information for elected officials and their staffs. It also shows the new districts from the recent redistricting process.

Signature Chamber events provide members opportunities to hear about issues facing their businesses. Regular meetings with members of the Board of Supervisors, the General Assembly, and with congressional staff gives the Chamber input on business and community issues.

Redistricting from the 2020 US Census has resulted in many changes in local legislative districts from Congressional Districts to the General Assembly. Changes in local Board of Supervisors Districts have been smaller and less significant.

The 2023 Legislative Directory provides contact information for current elected officials and their staffs. It also shows the new districts for which elections will be held in November.

This directory will be updated after the November elections.

Legislative Agenda 2023

The business climate in Virginia and Fairfax County is essential to attract and retain business and workforce for economic growth.  This success is reliant on a business climate that encourages both existing and new businesses to grow.

Virginia has consistently ranked high in surveys for business success due to a vision that provides a climate for business growth. Crucial elements for business growth include right to work laws, investment in education, workforce training, stability in wage and compensation structures, low costs of doing business, and a quality of life that includes low crime rates.

We support a pro-growth and pro-jobs legislative agenda on all levels of government.  The Board of Supervisors, the General Assembly, and our Federal representatives must work with businesses to retain, create, and attract jobs.

In partnership with our members, community stakeholders, and elected officials the Chamber will continue to champion business growth and community strength. The 2023 legislative agenda is a framework for policy that will build on current successes and point the way to the future.
