SMALL BUSINESS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Earlier this month, the Fairfax County Department of Economic Initiatives (DEI) announced their plans to roll out phase 1 of THRIVE, a technical assistance program dedicated to small business growth.
The Fairfax County Press Release states:
“As a continuation of its commitment to the business community, Fairfax County introduces THRIVE – a technical assistance program dedicated to small business growth. Through this program, approximately 600 businesses will have the opportunity to receive consulting services valued up to $10,000, supporting them to achieve their unique business goals and continue their post-pandemic recovery. By offering coaching and consulting services THRIVE aims to mitigate the negative COVID-19 economic impacts on our local small businesses. Fairfax County’s Board of Supervisors authorized $7,000,000 of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to establish the THRIVE program. The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) will serve as the program grant administrator…”
Phase I starts on June 26th and runs through August 4th. During this time, the THRIVE program will be actively seeking Coaches and Consultants through Request for Proposals (RFP) by its administrative partner, the Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), at www.ledcmetro.org/thrive.
Recruitment will be seeking:
- Coaches
- Marketing Consultants
- Operations Consultants
- Financial Consultants
COACHING
THRIVE Coaches will guide and support local businesses on their journey to success by determining the specific technical assistance needed and connect them with qualified THRIVE Consultants. There is currently $200,000 in funding allocated for business coaching services to address the needs of up to 500 qualified businesses.

CONSULTING
THRIVE Consultants will consist of experts in business operations, marketing and financial planning. Consultants will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by imparting their expertise to local Fairfax County organizations. Consultants will be connected with individual small businesses by THRIVE Coaches.
