Join us at Bryant High School and spend the day connecting with the South Alexandria and southeast Fairfax County communities!
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11 AM – 3 PM, we’re bringing together neighborhood residents and businesses for our inaugural ALX South Block Party! This FREE community event will feature live music, 40+ vendors, and family-friendly activities, including face painting and fitness classes.
Stop by and enjoy live music, performances, and interactive entertainment throughout the day. The schedule includes a free Zumba class by Results Fitness, a live DJ, and much more from our very talented community.
If you want to chow down or just have a bite to eat, enjoy the variety of local restaurants and food trucks showcasing the diverse flavors of our community. You might recognize some of the local favorites, including MVS Chamber members Chalkboard Wings & BBQ and Dishes of India.
Meet vendors and shop for unique local products like handmade jewelry from The Silver Root and Alexandria-made hot sauces from Magpie Spice Co.
And at the Family Fun Zone, kids can enjoy free face painting by the Mount Vernon District Arts Council and make crafts with Alexandria’s KidCreate Studio. Then, be sure to visit the Touch-a-Truck event with the Fairfax County Fire Department.
Local healthcare providers including Sentara and US Dermatology Partners will be on site offering health information, free screenings, and community resources.
Don’t forget the prizes! Everyone who registers for the event will be entered for a chance to win a new iPad. (Yes, you read that correctly.)

If you act now, there is still time for you to donate a raffle basket filled with goodies from your business, hobby, or just fun items! We just ask that the basket’s value is around $50. 100% of proceeds support neighbors in need. (Raffle tickets are available online and at the event.)
You can also stand out and show your support as a Block Party sponsor. Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce members receive a 10% discount on gold, silver, and bronze sponsorship levels.
